Bharat–Uzbekistan Business Council Formally Established
The Bharat–Uzbekistan Business Council has been formally established, with a secretariat in New Delhi and a liaison office in Tashkent, to give Indian and Uzbek enterprise a single, government-backed platform for trade, investment and advocacy.

Why a Council, and Why Now
India and Uzbekistan have been strategic partners since 2011 and signed a Bilateral Investment Treaty in 2024. Trade passed $1 billion in 2025. What the corridor lacked was an operating layer — an institution that works between the ministries and the market, every day.
The Council fills that layer. It is open to enterprises incorporated in either country, to chambers and institutions, and to qualified individuals with a demonstrable interest in bilateral commerce.
Its instruments are practical: market-entry strategy, one-window company registration and certification, government liaison, delegation logistics, partner verification, technical translation — and a curated project bank of investment opportunities in Uzbekistan’s priority sectors.

Three tiers
What Members Can Expect
Membership is offered in three tiers — Associate, Corporate and Patron — scaled from first-time exporters to institutions shaping the corridor. Applications are reviewed by the secretariat within five working days.
The first programme year includes reciprocal trade delegations between New Delhi and Tashkent, sector roundtables on pharmaceuticals, textiles and free economic zones, and the inaugural India–Uzbekistan Trade & Investment Forum.
The Council’s leadership board brings together co-chairs from both countries and specialists in investment, legal and arbitration, government liaison, customs compliance, IP and delegations.
