Who we are
This website is operated by the Bharat–Uzbekistan Business Council (“the Council”, “we”), with its secretariat in New Delhi, India. This policy explains what personal data we collect through bubc.uz, why, and how we handle it.
What we collect
Information you give us through the contact and membership application forms — name, organisation, email address, telephone number, country of incorporation, tier of interest and the content of your message. Technical data collected automatically — IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site — through server logs and analytics.
Why we use it
To respond to enquiries and proposals; to assess and process membership applications; to send Council briefings, event invitations and delegation calls to members and to those who have asked to receive them; to operate, secure and improve this website; and to comply with legal obligations.
Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of your consent (forms and newsletters), the performance of a membership agreement, our legitimate interests in operating the Council and its website, and applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the personal-data legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan where it applies.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with service providers who host this website, send our email communications or process applications on our behalf, under contract; with the Council’s Tashkent liaison office; and where required by law. Where you ask us to arrange meetings or delegations, we share the details necessary to do so with the counterparties concerned.
Retention
Enquiries are retained for up to 24 months; membership records for the duration of membership and seven years thereafter for accounting and legal purposes; analytics data in aggregated form.
Your rights
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your personal data, withdraw consent, or object to processing by writing to contact@bubc.org. We will respond within 30 days.
